My Dance Training and Background
I’ve danced and trained in dance all my life, starting with Ballet & Modern exams as a young girl with the ISTD board. As well as my University degree I hold a Diploma in Dance Performance & choreography. I’ve delved into dance performance, musical theatre and found a passion for teaching dance. I’ve several years experience teaching young people in Performing Arts including the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance, Stage coach Theatre Arts and Greenwich Performing Arts Academy London. Keeping my fitness levels up became really important to me as I found that I needed stamina and body conditioning to help maintain the level of dance required for the industry. After gaining my fitness qualifications I found a new passion for dance fitness fusion classes including Barre and Dance Cardio. I’m currently now running my own small dance studio: Peaches Dance Fitness
Current Commercial Dance Fitness class with Natasha-lee
I’m focusing on teaching the Commercial Dance style to adults with my own body conditioning based on my Personal Training knowledge. I’m passionate to deliver this class as the style of dance is fun, sassy and up-beat. You will enjoy moving so much your aerobic fitness will naturally boost. The Body conditioning element from continuous classes will help improve muscle tone and engage the right muscles you need to dance.
Many people ask ‘how do I learn to dance’? and ‘ Is it possible to learn to dance without attending class’? From my experience I’ve gained a lot from dance teaching qualifications and self learning but there is so much to be learnt from attending a real live or online class. You’ll have the social interaction, feedback from the teacher to improve and you will be accountable i.e. there’s no excuses or reasons that get in that the way to stop you taking that dance class!
Commercial Dance is ideal for those who are returning to dance , beginners or wanting to try a different style, because its accessible to many different age groups from teens to adults. Easy to follow routines, with simple choreography and basic technique to improve your skill. No prior dance experience or special dance gear is necessary and you can dance in your gym clothes and trainers.. nice and casual! However I also offer Intermediate to Advanced level classes for the more experienced and professional dancer who wants to improve and be challenged.
